I'll say it again... the main positive to come out of this bore of a tournament was the officials.... thought they was absolute top notch..

To be fair, a black man's palms and the inside of his forearms do appear quite pale.....and under the floodlights and all that......a big african hand could be confused with a pasty skinned paleface's.........erm.

He gave a free kick for handball against Koscielny who has a white hand when it struck Eder's who has a black hand...... Sorry to point out the obvious but someone should of told Clattenburg.
How you can say the officials were top notch is baffling.

Gary Lineker felt the need to mention he'd done well, too. Didn't mention the hand ball free kick and the impact it had on the game.

He was good last night, aside from the almighty fuck up of booking koscielny for hand ball when it was the Portuguese striker who handled, then they hit the bar from the free kick and scored seconds later from the next phase of play
Oh and the free kick/booking for a high bout when the Portuguese chap went down like he'd been shit when the boot was actually nowhere near his face in the end

The Refereeing standard has been very good as stated already.
I noticed with Clattenburg, when reffing in the Euros & CL he refs a bit differently and lets the game move better playing advantage where possible.
In England, he jumps in with decisions much quicker and gets quiet a few wrong, but Sky love that, so maybe he likes that attention to.

As NS says the standard of refereeing in this tournament has been amazingly good and that includes Clusterfuck which begs the question why can he not maintain this standard when he refs in the Premier League ?

I use to work with Simon Beck in the city many moons ago, he was doing non-league at the time, fair play to him.

I actually think the refeeing has been top notch and considering some of the prima donas on display they've always been in control. Not putting up with nonsense and telling them who's boss.
